Pics of the Cage I Made....

Post by StemTMAXX on Tue Jun 30, 2009 3:37 am

Made this a few weekends ago and finally got a chance to clean it up, paint it and make panels for it like I did with the RC HardBodyz Cage. Total cost of material was like 7 bucks from TSC, got a couple lengths of 3/16 dia. cold roll steel and a small length of 1/2" wide flat stock for the mounts. I designed and made scale drawings to go off of then just started cutting and bending and welding. I weigh 155lbs and can (and have) stand on this cage and it is solid but it still weighs the same as my old cage... its also a little shorter for better approach and departure. I've also added a few other goodies to my tmaxx since the last time some of you saw my truck... Losi Claw MT tires, Carbon Black Traxxas Tubes for the front which DO WORK with 3.2" wheels, RPM True Track Rear, RPM Upper/Lower Front A-Arms and knuckles and Shock Mounts and another set of RAM lights.

anyways... heres some pics.....

a few hours later

finally got some paint!

Finished product

After making light brackets

heres what it used to look like...

thanks guys, used yellow cuz its something different. not sure how much the cage weighs but the truck weighs 12.5 pounds as it is with beadlocks, tires, aluminum bulkheads, RPM parts everywhere, and 160 cc's worth of fuel
